我又收到不一樣的解釋回答。

Dear Mr Tey,

True, its there is only Full Marathon, Half Marathon 10 km and 5 km option. For veteran, it automatically detect by your birth date.

Actually all runners are registered in open category and if his/her age is in the veteran range, it also listed the runner under the veteran category. The difference is at the winning time, the runner only entitle to get 1 price at the time.

For example, you have registered in individual full marathon and  you are malaysian, so you are automatically registered in Open Category, Malaysian Category and Veteran Category.
If you are the fastest of all full marathon runners, we will give you the 1st prize of open category. But if you are not the fast enough to win in the Open Category but you are the fastest among the veteran runner, so you are entitle to get the prize under this category. This applied the same for malaysian category.

Hope we make you clear of the veteran category.

根據主辦當局這樣的解釋，小弟簡單的解釋，所有全馬參賽者基本上都是公開組，若是他們（宿將組參賽者）的比賽時間可以在公開組贏得獎金，而且又比宿將組高，那他們可以拿走公開組的獎金，不然也可以在宿將組爭獎金。因為宿將組的獎金比較低。

而大馬參賽者還附設有國內組，若是公開組或宿將組都沒有機會，都讓外國參賽者贏走獎金，也有機會在國內組爭獎金。

但是，每一名參賽者只能贏走一份獎金。而他的成績在其他組別也會保持不變，其他參賽者不會取代該名得獎者的排名。

歡迎你們到來。雖然那時是世界杯足球賽，但是怎樣都有機會去參加，主要是主場嘛。
